My exercise emphasizes the criminal and crisis troubles faced through the aged and their families, inclusive of disability, guardianship, lengthy-time period care, and give up-of-existence worries. In my 30+ years of exercise, I even have really loved the relationships I actually have advanced with my clients and their households. Born and raised in Oregon, I come from a own family of legal professionals with both my father and grandfather serving in the career. I preserve a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Willamette University in Salem and a J.D. from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in Tacoma, Washington.
I am a strong believer in the philosophy of “doing well by way of doing top.” I enjoy teaching my network approximately elder regulation issues and am a frequent speaker to senior agencies, clinical and social employees, financial specialists, attorneys and community agencies. I am an creator and trainer on subjects together with long-time period care and Medicaid making plans, incapacity, guardianships and conservatorships, property making plans, prison ethics and professionalism. I am also the co-editor of the Oregon State Bar book entitled The Elder Law Handbook, a reference e book for Oregon lawyers.
I am a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Lawyers. I also currently serve on the Interdisciplinary Committee for Adult Protection in Multnomah County working to defend seniors. I am the past Chair of the Elder Law Executive Committee and the beyond Chair of the Estate Planning Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar. I am also a member of the Guardianship/Conservatorship Association of Oregon.
