About
Rachel received her undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University, wherein she acquired her bachelor’s diploma in Political Science, with double minors in Philosophy and History. In 2014, Rachel received the History Department’s James R. Shirley Essay Prize for her studies paper on the Soviet Union’s gulag machine.
After commencement, Rachel enrolled in Northern Illinois University’s College of Law, wherein she served because the Symposium Editor for the Northern Illinois University Law Review and as Clerk for Phi Alpha Delta’s Dooley Chapter. Her Law Review article, Battle for Baby: Proposed Legislation for Custody Battles over Frozen Pre-Embryos, changed into published inside the Asia Pacific Health Law & Ethics Journal in 2016.
During law college, Rachel became decided on as an APPLE Outreach Assistant and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Donald C. Hudson within the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District. As a judicial extern, Rachel researched case regulation and drafted judicial critiques on loads of topics, such as armed robbery and criminal sentencing. Her revel in as a judicial extern supplied her with precious training in prison writing and studies.
Rachel joined the Law Offices of John J. Malm & Associates, P.C. as a regulation clerk in 2016. She earned her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2017, and became an associate lawyer with the corporation.
Since joining the organization, Rachel has been energetic in the DuPage County Bar Association and has served as a member on the DCBA’s Civil Law committee and New Lawyers Division committee. She is presently the Vice Chair of the DCBA’s Personal Injury/Insurance Practice committee. In addition to the numerous DCBA committees, Rachel also serves on the editorial board of the DCBA Brief, a journal published monthly by means of the DuPage County Bar Association.
