Born and raised in Little Rock, Iowa, Joel Arends graduated from the University of South Dakota and obtained his law degree from the University of South Dakota in 2006.
In 2018 the electorate of Lincoln County elected Arends to serve a 4 year term on the Lincoln County Commission in County Commission District 1. Arends ran on a platform of fiscal duty, financial boom, fidelity to taxpayers and developing partnerships with neighborhood, kingdom, federal and personal stakeholders.
Having worked at the highest stages of American campaigns, Arends served as a marketing campaign aide to former president George W. Bush and former presidential applicants Senator John McCain and Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann. Joel has served inside the United States Army for 26 years and presently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel and Brigade Deputy Commander inside the United States Army Reserve.
