Jennifer has represented personal individuals in addition to county businesses in family matters, infant protection, and civil commitment litigation considering 2014. As a licensed pupil lawyer at William Mitchell College of Law, she represented mother and father whose kids were eliminated from the house under situations which includes chemical dependency and medical overlook. At the equal time, she volunteered as a guardian ad litem (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in toddler protection cases in Hennepin County.
Beginning in 2015, Jennifer clerked in a personal exercise own family law office and, after graduating early from law college and passing the Bar exam in February 2016, she have become an Associate Lawyer, continuing her paintings in infant protection parental defense, whilst expanding into dissolution of marriage (divorce), custody, parenting time, and all of the troubles that accompany own family law.
Wanting to gain greater courtroom experience, Jennifer formed JLT Law (Law Offices of Jennifer L. Thompson) in January 2017 and represented customers from as a long way away as Vermont whose circle of relatives cases had been venued in Minnesota counties. As a solo practitioner, she received experience unexpectedly and appeared at every stage of litigation in circle of relatives subjects from preliminary case control meetings to trial.
From May 2018 to June 2019, Jennifer represented Meeker County and its residents in toddler safety, child help, truancy, civil commitment, guardianship/conservatorship, grownup protection, juvenile delinquency, and DHS licensing matters. Building in this experience, she decided to re-launch JLT Law & Mediation in July 2019 with increased exercise regions and extra geographic insurance beyond the Metro region and into central and southern Minnesota.
When not advocating for other households, Jennifer enjoys time with her circle of relatives fishing, gardening, and cooking at their home in crucial Minnesota.
