Our crook justice device is designed to guard the harmless. However, in so doing, we should likewise shield the responsible. For this cause, it's far crucial that absolutely everyone accused of against the law—whether or not clearly harmless or guilty—be represented similarly and assertively.
This is my passion.
Since starting my career, I even have practiced solely crook law. Early on, I centered on crook trial lawsuits. I had been lead recommend in over 130 jury trials—each state and federal—twenty-six of which have been homicides. I am loss of life penalty licensed and had been lead recommend in ten loss of life penalty jury trials. I also ran for the elected role of Public Defender for Jacksonville in 2012, hoping to make a few vital changes.
My enjoy in criminal trials in the end led me into the fields of postconviction and criminal appellate regulation. An in-depth expertise of trial technique and technique is essential to effectively pleading instances submit-conviction. I had been practicing postconviction work for over 13 years.
I earned my Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. I finished my undergraduate in English at the University of Florida.
