About
Ashling Soares is a graduate of the University of Miami School of law, cum laude, and is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, and Florida country courts, in addition to the US District Court for the District of Connecticut. Ashling earned her B.A. in Sociology from Boston College, where she interned at a private crook protection law workplace. During regulation college, Ashling labored within the University of Miami’s Children and Youth Law
Clinic, where she represented present day and former foster care teens in dependence, fitness care, mental fitness, incapacity, impartial residing, education, immigration and other general civil felony
matters. Ashling also gained good sized litigation enjoy whilst interning at both the Miami
Public Defender’s Office and the Broward Public Defender’s Office.
After regulation college, Ashling worked as an Assistant Public Defender on the Broward Public Defender’s Office for three years, in which she represented low-income customers in a wide variety of criminal instances, starting from misdemeanors to extreme felonies. After moving to Connecticut, Ashling labored as an Agency Lawyer for the Administration for Children’s Services in New York City, where she prosecuted toddler abuse and neglect instances in own family courtroom.
After leaving ACS, Ashling started out operating in non-public exercise. Using the abilities and enjoy she had won as a public defender and ACS lawyer, Ashling accelerated her exercise areas to encompass, further to criminal law and own family regulation, schooling regulation, employment law, litigation, and property making plans. Ashling has shared her acquired information in education law even as teaching a legal seminar on unique training, thru the National Business Institute. Ashling lives in Fairfield, Connecticut, along with her husband, Anderson, and their daughters, Ava and Aliya.
